The Grand Entrance

*** All of the secrets we have found to creating the splashiest wedding party introductions ->

The grand entrance is the ultimate first impression for your wedding reception! Choosing the style your wedding party is introduced sets the tone for the rest of the evening and a chance to help stylize your day with music vibes that make you happy. Having said that, there are a number of different styles to consider. Would you rather have a classy Oscars-style entrance or a wild dance party? Perhaps a classic movie feeling with Motown songs or maybe recreating the vibes of being with your friends at a summertime EDM festival? Thankfully there truly are no wrong answers. Whatever music speaks to you is the right choice. Sometimes you will have a great idea of what type of music you love, and sometimes you might need a little bit of inspiration. Rest assured inspiration is on the way this week! This week we are going to go on a deep dive that includes 10 very different types of Grand Entrance Music to help you consider what direction you might like to choose for your own big moment. I'm including lots of ideas as some of them are just plain silly, but even if they aren't your style will hopefully help inspire some creative thinking of your own. For each style I am also going to include a few notes on how your MC might style their voice and introduction script to match the music. The more experienced that your MC is, the more fun you can have with this! LET"S GET TO THE LISTS! Feel free to mix and match and make these your own. And now, if I may: "Ladies and Gentleman, would you please stand up and help me welcome, for the very first time, our Wedding Party Introduction Music!!!

CLASSIC MOTOWN This is the perfect place to start as this is easily the most universal Grand Entrance music. If you don't have a strong feeling about your Grand Entrance songs, these are all wonderful selections. These are all timeless classics that will make your wedding feel like a movie. Matched with short and sweet MC notes delivered with a smooth and simple voice, you and your wedding party can enjoy an easy & relaxed walk into the room, strutting like the movie stars you are!

THIS WILL BE (AN EVERL LOVE) - Natalie Cole AIN'T NO MTN HIGH ENOUGH - Marvin Gaye I WISH - Stevie Wonder CAN'T HELP MYSELF - The Four Tops AIN'T TOO PROUD TO BEG - The Temptations SWEET SOUL MUSIC - Arthur Conley LAND OF 1000 DANCES - Wilson Pickett DO YOU LOVE ME - The Contours I WANT YOU BACK - The Jackson 5 HIGHER & HIGHER - Jackie Wilson RIGHT BACK WHERE WE STARTED FROM -Maxine Nightingale

DISCO FUNK Almost identical to the Classic Motown vibes, but with slightly elevated vibes that will require a little bit of dancing on your part. Think James Brown and Abba. These songs will definitely elevate the atmosphere and get your guests all grooving before the first course, best of all because they are universally loved by generations both young and old. MC requires a slightly more elevated introduction style to land this, but still nice to keep it short and let the music do the talking.

TOP 40 PARTY VIBES

This is a super popular category, especially if you have a big young wedding party who just wants to get the party started. To really land this one, the MC should channel their very best Radio DJ voice and use a polished announcer style to help elevate the crowd to the frenzy these songs deserve.

DANCE THE NIGHT - Dua Lipa

BARBIE WORLD - NIcki Minaj & Ice Spice TEXAS HOLD'EM - Beyonce FRIDAY - Nightcrawlers BABY DON'T HURT ME - David Guetta I'M GOOD - David Guetta ft. Bebe Rexha I FEEL GOOD - Pitbull ft. Anthony Watts DYNAMITE - BTS ABOUT DAMN TIME - Lizzo BIG ENERGY - Latto ft. Mariah Carey BAM BAM - Camilla Cabello ft. Ed Sheeran KARMA - Taylor Swift

2010s DANCE MIX So similar to recent party songs are fun selections from the past decade, songs that coloured the youth of most young wedding parties while they were rocking their own high school and college parties. The MC should similarly bring some big announcer vibes to these fun nostalgic songs.

UPTOWN FUNK - Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars

CAN'T STOP THE FEELING - Justin Timberlake DANZA KUDURO - Don Omar GIVE ME EVERYTHING - Pitbull ft. Ne-Yo LE7ELS - AviciiTIMBER - Kesha ft. Pitbull PARTY ROCK ANTHEM - LMFAO BARBARA STREISAND - Ducksauce SUPERBASS - Nicki Minaj ALL I DO IS WIN - DJ Khaled BRING EM OUT - T.I. MARRY YOU - Bruno Mars

2010s ROCK MIX Oh the flip-side of 2010s nostalgia is all of the bands and rock songs that helped colour the decade from One Direction to Coldplay. For these I'm always a fan of when the MC does a bit more "Rock Radio" and puts adds a bit of gravel of grizzle to their voice for that extra rock effect.

WHAT MAKES YOU BEAUTIFUL - One Direction

I WILL WAIT - Mumford & Sons HO HEY - The Lumineers RIPTIDE - Vance Joy SHOTGUN - George Ezra BEST DAY OF MY LIFE - American Authors HANDCLAP - Fitz And The Tantrums LAZARETTO - Jack White LONELY BOY - The Black Keys HOT TONIGHT - Tokyo Police Club SKY FULL OF STARS - Coldplay THUNDER - Imagine Dragrons 2000s RAP DANCE These songs remain favourites over 20 years later because they just work so perfectly. They have all the strut and swagger you need for a super fun Grand Entrance. The MC can have a little bit of fun with these and add their own cool strutting style, not unlike a nightclub DJ at 2am

CRAZY IN LOVE - Beyonce YEAH - Usher I JUST WANNA LUV U - Jaz-Z PARTY UP - DMX WORK IT - Missy Elliott DROP IT LIKE IT'S HOT - Snoop Dogg DON'T MATTER - Akon TEMPERATURE - Sean Paul CALABRIA - Enur ft. Natasja FERGALICIOUS - Fergie DON'T CHA - The Pussycat Dolls JUST DANCE - Lady Gaga ROCK ENTRANCE There is something incredibly satisfying about rock music for your grand entrance. It makes it feel akin to a sporting event with all of the hype and adrenaline that go along with it. When the MC does a full grizzly Rock Radio DJ voice it adds so much. These are perfect for people who don't want to dance

THUNDERSTRUCK - AC/DC

CRAZY TRAIN - Ozzy Osbourne PANAMA - Van Halen ENTER SANDMAN - Metallica PARADISE CITY - Guns N Roses LIVIN ON A PRAYER - Bon Jovi

90s DANCE MIX If you are ready for a high-energy grand entrance, these 90s dance hits are definitely for you! The MC on this one should definitely add some hype and attitude, delivering these in an upbeat fun style that matches the energy of these

For this one the MC would ideally have some swagger in their style and deliver these in a way

MOVIE & TV MAGIC Another fun idea is to take the soundtrack or overture from your favourite movie and walk out in the style of the characters from that movie. The MC should adopt the style of that movie, for example if it is Star Wars, there could announce like Darth Vader, the trick is to have fun with this one.

I'VE HAD THE TIME OF MY LIFE - Dirty Dancing SUCCESSION THEME - Succession GAME OF THRONES - Game Of Thrones STAR WARS OVERTURE - Star Wars THE BEST - Schitt's Creek I'LL BE THERE FOR YOU - Friends FROLIC - Curb Your Enthusiasm EYE OF THE TIGER- Rocky THE POWER OF LOVE - Back To The Future SOUL BOSSA NOVA - Austin Powers GANSTA'S PARADISE - Dangerous Minds WHAT A FEELING - Flashdance IN SUMMARY This is one of a few key moments that you and your fiance will truly remember! It is an opportunity to have fun, jump in and set the tone for your wedding night. It's common to get a little bit of stage fright, but rest assured that if you jump into the moment and trust, it will be amazing! This is literally a room full of people who love you and want to celebrate you. Hope you have fun basking in all of your well-deserved glory! -BM
